The true artist never makes mistakes, since they are exceptional at hiding them.

With every new project, remember to ignore that little voice that says, " you're only a hair's length from royally fucking this up."

Circa 2003 or 2004?
Pretty sure I painted this for my sister Jaime, who also went to UCLA

[Mural] Fraternity letters

2003

This was another mural that I painted at my fraternity. I was a founding father of the fraternity when it was reinstated at UCLA after being thrown off campus in the 1980s. I painted the mural, and had all of the other founding fathers sign their name. We may have fought, but we made something together.

Next stencil work?

[Pearlescent ink and water color painted on a sketch] for Jimmy

My mom spends most of her time (like seriously hours and hours a day) perfecting her watercolor portraiture technique. I have dabble with it but I am not as good as my mom. here is one of the few that is pretty good if i saw so myself.

Here is a more recent attempt I did as a sketch video:

True art can never be owned. You may possess it, but you never own it. It has a life of its own.

Don't judge me, lol. Random sketch from circa 2007?

[For Jaime] Shocked and Frightened, Brainless and Clueless. And Stanley.

24" x 36"
Acrylic paint, mica, pearlescent ink and vinyl tape on canvas.

Took me 8 years to finish this painting, though to be honest I stopped working on it for 7 of those years while I was focusing on my Ph.D. I originally was going to give it to my sister, Jaime, as a house warming gift for her new condo. Then it became a wedding gift. Then a baby shower gift. Now it will finally be a "Happy first Birthday Niece !" gift.

I was thinking in this piece what it would be like if you had a fish tank in your bedroom, and your fish have developed PTSD from watching you have sex. All except Stanley. He is into it.

[Mural] Untitled

When I lived in room 12 at the fraternity, I had a beautiful view of a concrete wall. One day I took some extra paint, and just made something quick to improve my view.
